Why solicitor-led

The cases that need a solicitor, not a form.

PRIVILEGE

Confidential by default

Instructions to a solicitor carry legal professional privilege. Filing factories and form websites cannot offer that, and client names are never published here.

STRATEGY

Specification is the battle

Most trademark failures were built in at filing: wrong classes, weak specifications, undetected conflicts. The free conflict search and solicitor-drafted specification exist to win the dispute you will hopefully never have.

PROVEN

Tribunal record, public

Opposition defended and won entirely, with costs, against a specialist national IP firm, UKIPO Decision O/1132/25. Verify it on the register, not a review site.

Common questions

Trademark FAQs.

What does the £555 UK fee include?

Everything for one class: one free conflict search on your proposed mark, drafting the specification, filing at the UKIPO within 48 hours of instruction, responding to standard examination objections, and your registration certificate, with the UKIPO official fee included. No VAT, no hidden extras.

Can you file in the EU and internationally as well?

Yes. EU trademarks are filed via our EU correspondent agent (from €600 plus the EUIPO fee), and further countries are covered through the Madrid Protocol and our vetted correspondent network.

What happens if my application is opposed?

You are represented by a solicitor with a proven Tribunal record: a contested UKIPO opposition defended and won outright, with costs awarded, against specialist national IP firm Appleyard Lees (Decision O/1132/25). TM8 counterstatements, evidence rounds, invalidation and revocation are all handled in-house.

Why use a solicitor instead of a filing website?

Most filing problems are specification problems, the goods and services were wrong on day one. A solicitor brings legal privilege, judgement on class strategy, and the ability to defend the mark when it is challenged. The contested matters are where the difference shows, and they are cheapest to prevent at filing.

I own a 'Brexit clone' UK registration. Should I be worried?

Possibly. Since 1 January 2026, cloned UK registrations are exposed to non-use cancellation unless there has been genuine use in the UK. If your use has all been in the EU, your UK right may now be vulnerable, read our guide or send the registration number for a fixed-fee portfolio check.

Someone has registered my brand as a domain name. Same problem?

Same client, same day, different procedure: cybersquatting is recovered through UDRP or Nominet DRS complaints, decided on the papers, and a registered trademark makes the complaint far stronger. See domain disputes, handled under the same roof.
