Santosh is a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales, regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, and the founder and the Managing Director of Western Legal Corporation Limited.
He is additionally qualifying as an Irish Solicitor (expected Q2 2026), which will expand our capability to advise on EU and Irish intellectual property matters post-Brexit.
Before establishing Western Legal, Santosh gained corporate intellectual property exposure through an internship with PepsiCo's litigation and intellectual property team under Vice President V R Shankar. This provided insight into trademark portfolio management, prosecution strategy, and brand protection at scale within a multinational FMCG environment.
Santosh also trained under senior barrister Hammad Baig in London, developing expertise in commercial litigation and dispute resolution practice at the English Bar.
In 2025, Santosh represented the applicant in contested opposition proceedings before the UK Intellectual Property Office. The case (Decision O/1132/25, Moonway Global Retail Limited v Legacy Knitting LLC) resulted in the opposition being dismissed in its entirety, with costs of £750 awarded in the client's favour. The opposing party was represented by Appleyard Lees IP LLP, a specialist intellectual property firm.
