Western Legal / Employment
Employment · For employers

Employment problems are cheap to prevent and expensive to defend.

Contracts, handbooks and policies that hold up; disciplinaries, grievances, redundancies and TUPE run correctly the first time; and a retainer that gives you a solicitor to call before the letter arrives, not after.

Handled entirely in writing. No hearings, no meetings, no attendance required.

Common questions

FAQs.

Why fixed fees for HR processes?

Because the incentive should be to finish your problem, not to bill it. A disciplinary supported at £650 costs less than one hour of a City employment partner, and an unfair-dismissal claim costs multiples of the whole schedule.

Our contracts were downloaded years ago. Does it matter?

Usually the gaps only show when someone leaves badly: no enforceable restrictive covenants, no IP assignment, notice terms that don't say what you think. A contract review is the cheapest audit your business will buy this year.

Do you deal with settlement agreements for exits?

Yes, drafting on the employer side at £650, and the protected-conversation approach advised before you have it. See the Where an exit is agreed, settlement agreement drafting for employers is quoted on enquiry.

What does the retainer actually get us?

A solicitor who already knows your business, answering the 20-minute questions that prevent the £20,000 problems, plus the document allowance and priority turnaround set out in the retainer letter.
