2. What personal data we collect

We collect data you provide directly through our website forms and communications:

Via our trademark enquiry form: your name, email address, phone number, the brand name you wish to register, and a description of goods or services.

Via our contact form: your name, email address, subject, and message content.

Via WhatsApp, email, or telephone: any personal data you share during communications.

If you become a client, we also collect information necessary to file your trademark application, which may include your business name, address, and payment details.

3. Why we process your data and our legal basis

Enquiry forms and communications: We process this data to respond to your enquiry and provide you with trademark search results and advice. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to prospective client enquiries (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)), or, where you proceed to instruct us, performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).

Client work: We process client data to carry out the trademark registration services you have instructed us to provide. The legal basis is performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) and our legal obligations as a regulated solicitor (Article 6(1)(c)).

Analytics and advertising cookies: With your consent, we use Google Ads conversion tracking to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. The legal basis is consent (Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies or using the cookie controls on our site.

Our website uses the following cookies:

Essential: We do not currently use essential cookies.

Analytics and advertising (consent required): Google Ads conversion tracking (tag ID: AW-17979250617). This cookie is set by Google and is used to track form submissions for advertising performance measurement. It is only loaded after you consent via our cookie banner.

You can manage cookie preferences by clearing your browser cookies. Non-essential cookies are not loaded until you provide consent, in compliance with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), Regulation 6.

5. Who we share your data with

We may share your personal data with:

FormSubmit.co: Our form submissions are processed by FormSubmit.co, which forwards form data to our email address. FormSubmit does not store submissions permanently.

Google (if you consent to cookies): Anonymised conversion data is transmitted to Google for advertising measurement.

UKIPO, EUIPO, Indian Trade Marks Registry: If you instruct us to file a trademark application, your applicant details are submitted to the relevant intellectual property office as required by law.

EU correspondent agent: For EU trademark applications, we work with a correspondent agent based in Hungary. Your application details are shared with them to file on your behalf at the EUIPO.

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

6. International data transfers

Some of our data processing involves international transfers. Communications via WhatsApp are processed through Meta's infrastructure. Google Analytics data may be processed outside the UK. Where transfers occur, we rely on adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or other appropriate safeguards under UK GDPR Chapter V.

7. How long we keep your data

Enquiries that do not proceed: We retain your enquiry data for 12 months, then delete it.

Client files: In line with SRA guidance and the Limitation Act 1980, we retain client files for 6 years after the matter concludes (or 15 years for matters involving land or trusts). Trademark registration certificates and related correspondence may be retained longer as they have ongoing relevance.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to: access your personal data; rectify inaccurate data; erase your data (subject to our legal retention obligations); restrict processing; data portability; object to processing based on legitimate interests; and withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your personal data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk, telephone 0303 123 1113.
